With 125 New Model Charkhas, 30 pedal looms, and dedicated production centres at Hosadurga (Chitradurga District) and Singatagere, Kadur Taluk (Chikkamagaluru District), the Sangha has created livelihood opportunities for more than 100 artisans and Khadi workers, thereby strengthening the rural economy. Sri Lakshmi Khadi Gramodyoga Kaigarika Sangha specialises in producing high-quality cotton Khadi fabrics using eco-friendly, sustainable processes. The institution follows traditional hand-spinning and hand-weaving techniques while maintaining strict quality standards. During the year 2024–25, it achieved significant production and sales performance, reflecting its commitment to delivering premium Khadi products to customers across Karnataka. The Sangha operates Khadi Bhandars at Sangolli Rayanna Circle, Chitradurga, and Main Road, Hosadurga, where a wide range of Khadi fabrics, garments, household textiles, and other Khadi products are made available to the public. It also participates in exhibitions and promotional events to popularise Khadi and support the vision of "Vocal for Local" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat." Committed to environmental sustainability and rural development, the institution promotes natural, biodegradable, and hand-crafted products that preserve India's rich textile heritage. Since its establishment, the institution has been dedicated to promoting Mahatma Gandhi's vision of self-reliance through sustainable Khadi production and rural employment. The institution specialises in the manufacture of authentic hand-spun and hand-woven Khadi cotton fabrics, produced using traditional spinning and weaving techniques. With 25 New Model Charkhas and 10 handlooms, the Sangha has developed a reliable production system that combines traditional craftsmanship with quality assurance. During the financial year 2024–25, the institution produced 18,650 meters of Khadi cotton fabric, catering to the growing demand for eco-friendly, breathable, durable, and naturally handcrafted textiles suitable for garments, dress materials, kurtas, sarees, uniforms, and home furnishing products. Sri Barageramma Khadi Gramodyoga Sangha plays a vital role in generating sustainable employment for rural communities. The institution provides livelihood opportunities to 35 artisans and Khadi workers, including spinners, weavers, artisans, and Khadi Karyakarthas. By preserving traditional spinning and weaving skills while creating year-round employment, the Sangha contributes significantly to the socio-economic development of artisan families and strengthens the rural Khadi ecosystem. The Sangha operates its Khadi Bhandar at Rangayyanabagilu, Chitradurga, offering a wide range of certified Khadi textiles and value-added products. In addition to direct showroom sales, the institution actively participates in exhibitions and promotional events, making authentic Khadi products accessible to a larger customer base while encouraging the use of environmentally sustainable and handcrafted products. The institution also promotes Apparel & Lifestyle and Personal Care & Wellness categories, expanding the reach of Khadi beyond traditional textiles.
